Why fake accounts exist
A brand name that people already trust is worth copying. An impersonator sets up an account with a similar name, a familiar logo and a number that is one digit different, then waits for someone in a hurry.
The habits that protect you
Start from this website. Open myzeeflix.com/contacts and use the buttons there. If you always start from the same place, a lookalike never gets a chance.
Read the whole username or number. Compare every character, not the first few.
Be sceptical of forwarded contacts. A number pasted in a group chat proves nothing about who owns it.
Refuse pressure. Deadlines, warnings and "act now" messages are tools, not information.
Never share a password. Support does not need it.
Signs that should stop you
- A contact you were given privately that is not listed on this site.
- A request to move the conversation to a different app straight away.
- A profile photo and name that match, but a number that does not.
- Spelling that is close to the official username but not identical.
If you have already replied
Stop the conversation, do not send anything further, and open an official channel from the contacts page to report it. If you shared a password anywhere, change it.
